Basketball 

Basketball is run in Term 2 & 3

Students can enter a social team with a minimum of 9 players.

Trials will be held for the Junior A and Senior A team. 
The Senior A team will attend the 'AA' Premiership Championship in Winter Tournament Week

Payment is required in order to be put into a team. Students and Caregivers will receive a confirmation email once registration form and payment is complete. From here students will receive information regarding teams

Basketball New Zealand Levy: From 1 January 2025, an annual Basketball Development Levy of $5 for 14-year-olds and under, $10 for 15- to 19-year-olds and $15 for 20+ year-olds per player will be introduced across the country. The levy will be collected by BBNZ, and in collaboration with our Associations, will be directed towards a range of key initiatives. All students must register and pay the 2025 BBNZ Levy via the link below.

Dates:  Friday May 2nd - 2 games, May 16th - 2 games, Friday 23rd May
June 6th, June 13th, June 20th June 25th - Semis and Finals

Teams: If any students are wanting to create their own teams, they need to have at least 9 committed players, an adult coach and/or adult manager. 

Uniform/Equipment: The Senior A and Junior A team will be supplied with a playing uniform. Players in all other teams will be issued with a PNGHS numbered singlet and are required to wear the PNGHS black shorts. 

PAY BEFORE YOU PLAY

Payment is required on completion of the registration form in order for students to be registered and be put into teams. 

Payment Options: Pay at the completion of this form with credit card or through POLI. 

- Payment can be made at the accounts office with cash or eftpos. A receipt MUST be given or sent to Miss Woods in the Sports Department in order to finalise registration. t.woods@pnghs.school.nz 

- Payment can be made through bank transfer. A receipt MUST be given or sent to Miss Woods in the Sports Department in order to finalise registration.

Withdrawing from sport 

Unless there is an extreme cicumstances which have been discussed with the Sports Department, there will be no refunding of fees if withdrawing from a sports team/event. 

  • Parent and Student agree to abide by PNGHS Code of Conduct and rules/regulations of sport
  • Parent and Student agree to respect trial results & team selections for their chosen sport
  • Right to participate may be withdrawn if a student or parent fails to adhere to their commitments
  • Uniform to be worn correctly and returned to the school at the end of the season or replacement charges will apply
  • Parent agrees to keep the student's health profile information up to date on the school records
  • Parents agree to pay for all sports fees before first training/game day. Failure to do this will result in your student not being able to play.
