Mathematics Teacher - Full time; Permanent

We are seeking an inspiring and collaborative teacher of mathematics to join our team from the beginning of the 2026 academic year. We seek an applicant with strong classroom and relational practice and familiarity with mathematical pedagogy.

We have a well resourced and well led Maths department with plenty of support available. The successful candidate would be a New Zealand registered teacher, expected to teach mathematics across all year levels.

Palmerston North Girls’ High School is the only state girls’ secondary school in Manawatū. We have outstanding NCEA results and work within a Culturally Responsive and Relational Framework. Our staff provide high quality education with a strong focus on valued educational outcomes for young women.

Head of Department Commerce  - Full Time Permanent - 2 Management Units; 1 Middle Management Allowance

Our Head of Department Commerce is retiring at the end of the year after many years of leading and developing our dynamic Commerce department.  Our Commerce department is an innovative and well resourced team who foster creativity, curiosity and entrepreneurship, while developing an understanding of financial literacy. They offer programmes that allow students to interact with the wider business community and use real life contexts and case studies to give meaning to topics, including Trade Fairs. There are three subjects within Commerce - Years 9 to 11 can study Commerce as a subject option and in Years 12 and 13, Business Studies, Accounting and Economics are offered.

The successful applicant must be a team player who can inspire and motivate others and who is familiar with the various Commerce subjects to Level 3 and Scholarship level, and should be prepared to play an active role in the co-curricular and professional life of the school.
