Covid-19 Latest News

Important MESSAGE

Kia ora koutou,

Events have moved very quickly and the school is now preparing to close down. The only students expected at school Tuesday and Wednesday are those with parents working in the essential services. Teachers are busy preparing online lessons.

We are now more clear that term one is finishing this week and the holidays start next Monday 30 March and finish on Tuesday 14 April inclusive. However, the school will still be closed after that date but we will be teaching by distance and online. Our teachers are well prepared for this and we will be contacting students without devices at home – we have some Chrome books available and are exploring connectivity options. The Ministry of Education has set up an online resource page for parents and teachers regarding distance learning https://learningfromhome.govt.nz/

Student Interim reports have been completed for Term One and are available on the school portal.

Our office will be closed from Thursday 26 March for the 4 week shutdown and our school grounds and buildings locked and alarmed.

Please take care of yourselves and your whānau during this time. We wish you well and look forward to working with everyone again very soon.

Big Sing 2019

Cantatrices were selected alongside 23 other choirs from around the country to compete at the The Big Sing Finale in Dunedin from 29-31 August. They sang five songs over two performances, and performed in the Gala Concert where Hilary Barry was the compere. At the prizezgiving, Cantatrices gained a Silver Award. This was a wonderful experience for the choir to perform, listen to top choirs and make new connections.
