Year 8 Parents
We extend a very warm welcome to parents and students who have chosen Palmerston North Girls' High School as their secondary school - a wise choice. We have received your application forms with your subject selections and are now in the process of collating everyone's requests into class groupings ready to put onto our timetable. It is so exciting choosing subjects, and often not easy to do. BOT August Message
I was asked recently what it was that prompted us to introduce a senior school uniform to our school. As you could imagine, there are many arguments for and against this. Ultimately we are a school which promotes the standard of excellence, from the curriculum to the campus and across every area of the school. Having a totally uniformed school is one more step towards this, and after weighing up all sides of the equation, we know that this will benefit our school and our community.

Board of Trustees - September 2010
Recently I was privileged to be able to attend the launch of a product which has been developed by three of our senior students, which improves the safety of people on our roads. The product is called a "Visi-Belt" and it is a wrap around hi visibility belt which can be used in a multiple of ways. I was very impressed with the development and marketing strategies which were implemented by our students. This is a very enterprising endeavour and one which will be nothing short of a great success. Well done girls!

We all know that every school term is a busy term, but this one has many characteristics that feature in the minds of our young women. This term, they hand in the last pieces of work for assessment, prepare for school examinations early in September, October brings the deadline for the year's portfolios for some subjects, and November brings the national examinations for externally assessed learning.
