Year 12 Accounting is an option subject with preferability of completing Year 11 Accounting but discussions with the HOD may allow entry at this level.
We offer 7 internal credits and 17 external credits.
A study of Year 12 Accounting at Palmerston North Girls’ High School aims to:
- Promote knowledge and understanding of accounting as a financial language for trading and service businesses.
- Provide students with knowledge of the principles, processes and systems of accounting.
- Enable students to apply financial knowledge and skills to practical solutions.
Skills
- The skills developed in Accounting provide students with a in-depth understanding of preparing financial statements and GST returns for a small business, this includes the use of MYOB computer package
- These skills gained can assist in many areas of life including future studies, business finances, personal finances and clubs and societies finances
