The Drama programmes provide a wide range of opportunities for students to develop their skills in and knowledge of improvisation devising stage acting, theatre history and technical production roles. Students learn through co-operative group work, group work, solo pieces, practical performances and written assignments. Our students also gain self-confidence, positive self-images, sound interpersonal skills and expansion of their written and visual literacy. In Media Studies students specialise in learning about print and moving images. They study films, television programmes, magazines and newspapers and learn about the history of media, media genre and technical production such as digitally producing a film or magazine article. NCEA standards are offered in Drama from Year 10 to 13 and in Media Studies in Years 12 and 13. Both subjects are university recognized ones and scholarship is available for the top students. |
