High Performance Sports Unit |

The High Performance Sports Unit provides further development and learning opportunities for elite athletes at Palmerston North Girls' High School. This unit allows for students to be better prepared for the high demands of education and sporting expectations.
In order to be eligible for the unit, students are required to be a Year 10-13 pupil and achieving at a Regional and/or National level in their chosen sport. They also need to be meeting all school requirements and be focused at achieving at the highest level in their chosen sport. Applications are taken at the end of Term 4.
The programme is both practical and theory based and specialists in their fields are organised to come in and run sessions including goal setting, massage, recovery activities, sports psychology, mental toughness, time management skills, nutrition, fitness testing and many more. There are also a variety of sessions at world class facilities.
