2013 has been another year of outstanding success, achievement, participation and fun. Every month our Update Newsletter has increased in volume, filled with stories of our young women’s events and accolades. Our sport and academic prizegivings this year have been a delight and we were pleased that you were able to share the time with us in celebrating success for your daughter and her friends. The school year is fast coming to a close. Regardless of the message your daughter conveys about attendance, everyone is expected to attend until lunchtime on Friday 13 December.
The end of the year is a time to reflect on achievements and consider what needs to be put into place for the coming year. I refer to attending school as being similar to going to work. It does have the same features – work colleagues, a supervisor, an employer, a common purpose, and a reward for work done. It also requires everyone to work independently and co-operatively, to be at work on time every day, willing to take responsibility and strive hard for mutual benefits. Habits are formed early in the year and I invite you and your daughter to consider this.

Uniform is a vital part of Palmerton North Girls’ High School. When students enroll at our school they agree to apply the standards and expectations that accompany being a member of our school. Many of our young women aspire to positions in the community that would require them to wear a uniform or dress as an executive would. As our school is a place of work too, students need to follow our uniform guidelines and set high standards of work place appearance. Our advice is for young women to “dress for success” every day.
